2011 Carlinville Men’s Softball League Rules
-Games start at 6:30, 7:30, and 8:30 pm. The first game of the night must start by 6:30 to keep up with scheduled game times.
-Players must be out of High School and at least 18 years of age during the season to participate in the league.
-A 20 man roster is required to be submitted no later than June 29th, and only roster players are allowed to participate in the league playoffs.
-There is no team switching unless permission is granted by the league commissioner.
-League supplies 1 new game ball per game. After that, the team that hits the ball out of play is required to provide a ball. (League uses Worth Blue Dot, .47 core, .525 compression balls.)
-Seven homerun limit per game. All homeruns after the limit are considered an out.
-Courtesy rule of 20 runs after 4 innings and 12 runs after 5 innings is in effect.
-Teams not participating in the current game on a scheduled night are required to provide umpires. Teams not providing umpires will result in that team forfeiting its next game.
-Players may reenter once per game.
-Only 8 players are required to start an official game. If a player is injured and cannot continue and no sub is inserted into the lineup to replace them, that position in the lineup will result in an out for the duration of the game.
-Batters must have at least one foot in the batters box when making contact with the ball. Failure to do so will result in the batter being called out. If no batters box is present, batters must have at least one foot in front of the back portion of the black mat when setting up to hit.
-Pinch runners are allowed, but only substitutes or the last player to make an out is permitted to run.
-Base runners are not allowed to leave a base until contact is made, or time on the field is called.
-Pitching height limit: 6ft. to 12 ft. 1 and 1 count, no courtesy fouls.
-Every team is required to have an official scorebook. This is due to the fact that the home team is the official book and must be consulted in order to settle disputes and discrepancies.
-UMPIRES HAVE FULL POWER OVER GAMES
- Warning
- Ejection
- 2nd Ejection—You’re gone from the league. Find somewhere else to play.
Absolutely No Metal Cleats!!!! If player is caught, it will result in an automatic out and player will not be allowed to participate until it is remedied.
-N.S.A bat list. If it’s not on the list, it is considered to be an illegal bat.
-*New Rule for 2010* The PLATE and the mat are now both a strike. (It was voted on at the league meeting).
